The region between the "Abers" (similar to the norwegian fjords)
is suitable for many leisure activities.

SUN, BEACHES, SWIMMING
Numerous beaches, to begin with small bays over gravel beaches up to
extended sandy beaches, all is provided within a radius of 6 km.
Discover the variety of the underwater world of the Atlantic Ocean
and the two river mouthes. Participate in an excursion, guided by
experienced instructors. In the near proximity, you will find two

WIND- and KITESURFING
For all the marine windsports, you will find the best conditions on

Situated in the new yacht-harbour of Aber Wrac'h (4,5km) the sailing
club offers you a wide range of activities. You can learn sailing
with a little "optimist", a catamaran or even a big yacht type
Bénéteau First 35s5 with a length of 10,60m. The prices are

Besides the watersports, hiking along the old tollkeeper's path is
very popular. The long trail GR34 leads all along the coast. Enjoy
the panorama view over the sea and the coast with its lighthouses
and splendid landscapes.

You can buy topographic maps at the newsagents or in the supermarket
is called "pêche à pied" (pronounce paesch a pijee) and is
very popular in our region. Armed with rakes, buckets and dip nets,
you go hiking along the beaches at low tide to gather shrimps,
shells, crabs and little fishes for a meal.
At the coast and in the Abers the opportunities for fishing are
numerous. You don't need any permit for fishing here. The species
found are carnivore fishes like sea bass, gilthead, codfish which
you can catch with artificial baits or natural baits like rockworms
or shell meat. You will also find scavengers like hogfishes and
In the upcountry, many lakes, canals and rivers invite you for
fishing. Here you must buy a permit in a local tobacco-shop or
newsagent. You do not need a fishing licence.
If you don't have a fishing rod, we can borrow you something.
The weekly market in Lannilis will be every wednesday. In
Plouguerneau (6km) every thursday, and in Lilia (10km) tuesday night
(only in july and august). The colourful and vivid market life will
ispire you with its amazing variety of fresh products and local
specialities. In St. Renan (25km), every saturday the biggest weekly
market of all Finistère takes place. It is worth a visit.
Discover the specialities of our region: Cheese for every taste,
meat-pies, freshly harvested vegetables, meat from controlled
biological cultivation and -last but not least- freshly caught fish
and seafood. Discover Brittany culinarily: Benefit from the choice
of the local producers and the weekly markets. You can buy
top-quality sea-food like lobster, crawfish or oysters at a fraction
of the price in your country. Allow yourself this luxury.
OTHER PLACES OF INTEREST
The vicinity of Lannilis offers you many destinations for a day's
trip. Ancient abbeys, exotic gardens, the offshore islands, castles,
manor houses, cities with
medival architectures, Menhirs and Dolmen
(ancient graves) - witnesses of an age-old mystical civilisation.
Visit the islands, let yourself enchant by the
atmosphere of an acient castle or watch the performance of a
folklore group. Such a diversity like here in the Finistère is
rarely found elsewhere.
